The Malawi Police Service (MPS) has confirmed that there is currently no new information regarding the abduction of Sameer Sacranie, the owner of Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe, who was kidnapped by armed individuals nearly a month ago.
According to a report by Mibawa TV, Police Public Relations Officer Lael Chimtembo confirmed the development via WhatsApp saying: “No update at the moment.”
The abduction, which occurred in the early hours of February 6, 2026, has sparked concern among Malawians, with speculation mounting over the circumstances and motives behind the attack. Following the incident, police recovered a Toyota Fortuner, believed to have been used by the suspects, abandoned in Area 6, Lilongwe.
Police continue to investigate the case, but details remain scarce, leaving the public anxious and urging leadership to act swiftly to ensure safety, security, and accountability.
