TWO DIE IN SEPARATE ROAD ACCIDENTS IN KASUNGU

Two people have died in separate road accidents that occurred along the M1 Road in Kasungu District, police have confirmed.
Kasungu Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Miracle Hauli, said the first incident happened at Kawinama Village along the Jenda–Kasungu stretch of the M1 Road.
Hauli said a vehicle, registration number MJ 10089 Nissan Dualis, hit 30-year-old Brenda Mwandira from Chimbilanjala Village under Senior Chief Kaluluma as she attempted to cross the road.
In a separate incident,Yembekezani Makina, a motorcyclist, died after being involved in a head-on collision with an unknown vehicle at Solid One Trading Centre along the Kasungu–Lilongwe M1 Road.
According to Hauli, the unknown driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle when the collision occurred.
Makina sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Bua Health Centre.
