Blantyre City Council Seals Malawi Housing Corporation Offices Over K433 Million Debt

The Blantyre City Council has sealed the head offices of the Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC) in Blantyre over outstanding payments the institution owes the council.

Isaac Jomo Osman, the Mayor of Blantyre, who is leading the enforcement exercise, ordered MHC staff to vacate their offices within seven minutes.

Osman said the corporation owes the council approximately K433 million in unpaid city rates.
