Former MBC Director General George Kasakula Arrested

Former Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General George Kasakula has been arrested.
In an interview shortly after the development, Kasakula confirmed that he had been placed under arrest following several hours of questioning by Fiscal Police in Blantyre.
“Yes, I am now being informed that I have been arrested and will be detained. I have been here at the Fiscal Police offices in Blantyre since 9am for questioning,” he said.
Kasakula was dismissed about three weeks ago by the MBC Board over allegations of gross misconduct.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the specific charges linked to his arrest.
