Thousands of students at the University of Zambia (UNZA) have taken to social media to mourn the death of their fellow student Kelly Miyoba, who was expected to graduate in May this year.
Students flooded their WhatsApp statuses sharing a heartbreaking image of a coffin covered with a graduation gown, symbolizing a dream that ended too soon.
The widely shared message reads:
“Five years of sleepless nights, dedication, sacrifices, hard work and commitment, only to graduate in a casket. This cuts so deep.”
Kelly, a pharmacy student, had been staying with a friend in Makeni and was reported missing last week before he was found dead two days ago.
Fellow students, many dressed in their white lab coats, gathered with family and friends to bid him farewell at Mutumbi Cemetery.
