Police Nab Two Suspects in Murder of 17-Year-Old

Police in Mzuzu have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Amos Msiska from Wadosoka Village under Traditional Authority Thula in Nkhata Bay District.

The incident occurred on March 12, 2026, at Mpandaleza Village in Mzuzu City, where Msiska was allegedly assaulted to death by an angry mob after being suspected of theft.

Mzuzu Police Station Assistant Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Edson Chipeni, identified the suspects as Michael Mhango, 52, from Kajoweka Village under Traditional Authority Thula, and Chimwemwe Mphande, 29, from Gowamo Village under Traditional Authority Kabunduli. Both suspects are from Nkhata Bay District.

Police say investigations are ongoing to trace and arrest other individuals involved in the incident, who remain at large.
