Rasta Man Arrested in Blantyre For Chewing 17 Year-old Girl

Police in Blantyre have arrested a 52-year-old man, Gino Erick, on suspicion of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl.
According to Bangwe Police spokesperson Sam Kadyole, the incident dates back to May 2025 when the girl’s family relocated to Mwamadi Village under Traditional Authority Machinjiri.
Police say suspicions began after community members noticed what they described as concerning behavior and a close relationship between the suspect and the minor.
On March 24, 2026, the girl’s mother reportedly saw her entering Erick’s house and alerted police. Officers responded and allegedly found the two inside a room, leading to Erick’s immediate arrest.
The suspect is also reported to have admitted that the relationship began in 2025 during his birthday celebrations. Investigations are ongoing.
