Lightning Strike Kills Two Women, Injures Two in Dedza

Lightning has killed two women and seriously injured two others in Khomani Village, under Senior Chief Kachere in Dedza District.

According to the district hospital’s media officer, Mwayi Liyabunya, the two women were brought dead to the hospital, while the other two sustained severe burns and are currently receiving treatment.

Chief Khomani said the incident occurred when six women were gathered inside a house for bank nkhonde discussions. Lightning struck the wall of the house, burning the women.

Community members rushed the victims to the district hospital.
