Three Arrested in Karonga with 140kg of Marijuana

Police in Karonga have arrested three men suspected of being in possession of 140 kilograms of marijuana without proper permits.
Deputy police spokesperson Magret Msiska said the suspects have been identified as France Makawa, Angolushe Mwakilepisile, and Amos Limbwa.
According to Msiska, Mwakilepisile was intercepted while attempting to pass through the Rukulu border gate on a motorbike carrying marijuana.
Following his arrest, he was questioned and revealed that two other men were travelling on a bus toward the Songwe border gate with additional marijuana.
Police later intercepted the bus and arrested the two suspects, who admitted ownership of the contraband.
The three are expected to appear in court to answer charges of being in possession of marijuana without proper permits.
