Jealous Boyfriend Arrested for Kill!ng Friend Over Girlfriend

A 21-year-old man, Gift Banda, has been arrested in Dowa District for allegedly killing his 20-year-old friend, Thomas Yosefe, in a suspected love dispute.
Police at Mponela say the incident occurred on March 27, 2026, at Baron Estate, where both the suspect and the victim’s parents work as tenants.
According to Macpatson Msadala, spokesperson for Mponela Police, Banda had for some time been accusing Yosefe of having an affair with his girlfriend.
On the day of the incident, the two reportedly got into a quarrel over the issue, during which Banda allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Yosefe on the neck and left arm before fleeing the scene.
Yosefe was rushed to Madisi Mission Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police later arrested Banda on April 6, 2026, at Nambuzi Village, where he had been hiding.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
