Former Finance Minister Simplex Chithyola Banda Arrested

Police in Lilongwe have arrested former Minister of Finance, Simplex Chithyola Banda.
His lawyer, Jivason Kadzipatike, confirmed the development, stating that Banda voluntarily surrendered himself to the police.
Banda, who also serves as Leader of Opposition for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), is reported to have been arrested after his name appeared on a list of individuals allegedly connected to the K39 billion Green Belt Programme.
