Three-Year-Old Girl Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle Along Karonga–Mzuzu M1 Road

A three-year-old girl has died while receiving treatment at Rumphi District Hospital after she was hit by a motor vehicle at Golombe along the Karonga–Mzuzu M1 Road.
Police have identified the deceased as Uchizi Nyondo from Kayuni Village in the area of Senior Chief Mwankhunikira in Rumphi District.
According to Rumphi Police spokesperson Noel Kamchenga, the accident involved a Honda Step Wagon registration number RU 10103, which was being driven from Livingstonia towards Mzuzu.
Police say the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the car hitting the child as she was crossing the road. She sustained severe internal injuries and was rushed to Rumphi District Hospital, where she later died while receiving treatment.
Kamchenga added that four passengers in the vehicle escaped with minor injuries and were treated as out-patients.
