Celebrated Malawian musician Onesimus and his longtime manager Tonderai Banda have officially ended their professional partnership after working together for five years.
Banda announced the development in a heartfelt statement, describing their relationship as more than just that of an artist and manager.
He said their journey was built on brotherhood, faith, sacrifice and shared victories, adding that the decision to part ways was made mutually and came from a place of growth and peace.
“Our partnership went beyond a manager-artist relationship. It was a brotherhood built on faith, sacrifice and victories,” Banda said, while emphasizing that his love and respect for Onesimus remain unchanged.
Responding to the announcement, Onesimus described the past five years as a successful and memorable journey.
The “Controller” hitmaker thanked Banda for his contribution to his career, saying they achieved great things together during their time as a team.
Neither Onesimus nor Banda has disclosed what prompted the decision or revealed who will take over the artist’s management going forward.
The announcement comes just days after producer and manager Chawa Beats also confirmed the end of his nine-year working relationship with musician Merchah, marking another major management change in Malawi’s music industry.
