Police in Kawale, Lilongwe, have arrested a 23-year-old man, Blessings Brian Tobias, on suspicion of illegally accessing and circulating 2026 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination papers.

Kawale Police spokesperson Sub-Inspector Precious Mabvuto Phiri said the arrest followed a complaint from the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB), which reported that examination papers were being shared in a WhatsApp group named “Malawi School Certificate of Education Channel” before their official release.

According to Phiri, investigations traced the alleged offence to Tobias, who was arrested in the Chipasula area of Lilongwe.

Police suspect Tobias used his mobile phone to distribute unreleased practical examination papers through the WhatsApp group.

He is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court once police conclude their investigations.
