Limbe Police officer is battling with his life at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in the commercial capital Blantyre after shooting himself accidentally on the foot.
The police officer has been identified as Edward Bandawe.
According to Dan Mughogho of as it happens, the incident happened when the said police officer going to the office to hand over the rifle after night duties.
