Police Arrest Culprit Over Theft of Household Items Worth K160,000

Kanengo police station in Lilongwe is having in custody a 24-year-old man who broke into a house and stole household items all worth K160, 00.00.

Kanengo Police spokesperson, Laban Makalani has identified the suspect as John Mauzeni who committed the offence on 12th March 2018.

It is alleged that on that day, Mauzeni went to Mgona, in the village of Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe where he broke into one house and stole household items which among others were, kitchen utensils, clothes, radios and radio speakers all amounting to K160, 000, 00.

Later police and general members launched an investigation that led to the arrest of the culprit.

All the stolen items were also recovered. Meanwhile, the suspect is in police cell waiting to answer charges that have since been placed against him.

He comes from Kuthakwanasi village in the area of Traditional Authority Makwangwala in Ntcheu.
