Police in Ntchisi have arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly committing offences of burglary and theft.
The suspect who has been identified as Daison Ngoza of Siwanda Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kasakula in Ntchisi is a security guard at Ntchisi Forest Lodge.
The incident happened on March 6 2018 at Ntchisi Forest Lodge.
It is alleged that the suspect broke and entered into Ntchisi Forest Lodge belonging to a Dutch National, Ireen Bekers, 54, using a duplicate key and stole money amounting to K1 000 000.
Police instituted investigations leading to the arrest of the suspect on Wednesday June 20 2018 and the duplicate key has been recovered from the suspect.
Meanwhile investigations are still underway to recover the stolen money.
The suspect will appear before court soon to answer charges of burglary and theft when investigations have concluded.
