Annie Matumbi captured dancing with Malawi’s first lady Gertrude Mutharika

A photo has gone viral on social media showing a popular musician Annie Matumbi in a break-dance with the country’s first lady Gertrude Mutharika at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe.

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on Friday last week organized a fundraising dinner at Kamuzu Palace dubbed Blue Night.

The event was spiced up by live performances from Joseph Nkasa, Black Missionaries Band and Sendeza Sisters.

The performances captured the hearts of many the events including President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and his wife Gertrude who jumped on the floor to dance.

As this was not enough, the first lady dumped the President and joined Annie Matumbi who is aspiring to contest as Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City South East Constituency under DPP ticket in the forthcoming 2019 polls.

The photo showing the two dancing while holding hands has since gone viral on the social media attracting mixed reactions from the general public.
