Chilima celebrates 46th birthday today

United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also State Vice President is today celebrating his 46th birthday.

Chilima’s birthday comes barely a week after he together with his runningmate Michael also presented Presidential nomination papers to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) ahead of the forthcoming polls.

UTM President confirmed of his birthday in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by faceofmalawi reporter.

“Happy Birthday to me! I was born today. Glory be to the Lord God Almighty ! 46 years of God’s Grace,” reads in part statement.

This will be the first birthday to celebrate while out of government. Chilima dumped the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in June last year over leadership squabbles.

Some quarters in the party led by former First Lady Callista Bingu wa Mutharika endorsed Chilima and openly rejected Mutharika’s candidature.

Callista said the only hope for DPP is Chilima and not Muthartika.

The squabbles led to the birth of United Transformation Movement (UTM) Party.
