Chirimba Assemblies of God Pastor, Congregants robbed during night of prayers

Unknown thugs on the wee hours of Saturday invaded Chirimba Assemblies of God Church where members of the church had a night of prayer and went away with various items, faceofmalawi can reveal.

The criminals who put on masks and were armed with Panga knives, stones invaded the church whilst the service was in progress.

One of the Praise Team members who also took part in the prayers confirmed of the development in an interview with faceofmalawi reporter.

According to him, the armed robbers stopped the Pastor from preaching and asked him remove his shoes, belt and wristwatch.

The criminals also demanded cellphones and laptop from the Pastor.

The armed robbers who were so violent also asked church members to surrender their cell-phones, , handbags wrappers, cash and pairs of shoes.

“Those who were resisting were beaten up by the armed thugs,” said the church member who looked so shocked with the incident.

According to the source, the armed robbers previously also invaded the house of the Pastor where they went away with two laptops and other items.

Meanwhile the incident has been reported to police.
