Epileptic man drowns in Chiradzulu

A 52-year-old epileptic man drowned in Namulenga River in Chiradzulu District on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Jailos Amosi, met his fate within Mpatuka village in the area of Traditional authority Nkalo in the district.

It is reported that Amosi was staying alone in the village.

On the fateful day–25 February 2019–Amosi decided to fetch cattle feeds along the river bank but did not return home.

It is alleged that whilst there, Jailosi suddenly fell into the river and got drowned.

His remains were on Tuesday found floating by villagers who went searching for him.

They reported the matter at Namitambo Police Unit.

The police in a company of health personnel from Namitambo Health Centre visited the scene.

Postmortem conducted by the clinician indicated that the death was due to suffocation.

Amosi hailed from Mpatuka Village in Traditional Authority Nkalo’s area in Chiradzulu District.

Meanwhile, police are strongly appealing to community members to be extra careful towards people with different disabilities especially in this rainy season.
