Zambia Police Arrests 21 year-old woman for throwing her 2 year-old Baby on fire

ZAMBIA – A 21 YEAR OLD woman of Kasumpa village in Mwansabombwe District in Zambia has been arrested by police for throwing her two year old biological daughter on fire after she found her eating relish from the pot.

Deputy Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga says the baby sustained severe burns on both legs.

And Hamoonga has identified the suspect as Esther Mumba.

“Facts of the report are that, on 11th March,2019 around 16:00 hrs at the above village the named suspect found her child eating relish from the pot. She became upset, beat her up and threw her into the fire outside the house. Fortunately, the baby was rescued by her grandfather,” Hamoonga said.

He said the suspect has been arrested and will appear in court soon.
