Chilima demands Justice on Lule’s Death

United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Saulos Chilima who is also the vice president of the country has demanded justice on the murder of Buleya Lule.

Lule who was a key suspect in the abduction of a boy with albinism was found dead in police cell a day before he was expected to appear before court.

Following the recent autopsy report released by Dr. Charles Dzamalala and other two South African doctors has shown that Lule died after prolonged police torture before he was electrocuted.

Chilima therefore, has said the involved police officers in the murder of Lule must be held accountable.

“The police officers who killed Buleya Lure must been held accountable,” said Chilima.

He added; “They should be arrested and face trial,”

Chilima added that there is no way he can sit and watch such unlawful acts happening in the country.

“We cannot allow this extra judicial killings,” he said.

An autopsy report by Malawi Police showed that Lule had died with a natural cause.

National police spokesperson James Kadadzera refused to comment on the matter saying they are seeing the report on social media platforms and that they are yet to be served with the report.

Association of Persons with Albinism (APAM) has also demanded justice over the matter.

APAM has also demanded immediate action from the Inspector General of police Rodney Dzonzi.

Chilima has also challenged government to investigate the murder of Isa Njauju and Robert Chasowa who were murder 5 and 7 years ago respectively.
