Nkhotakota District Hospital Staff March over Poor Service Delivery

By Flora Mitumba

Nkhotakota District Hospital staff on Wednesday marched and presented a petition to the district council offices on poor service delivery by the hospital.

According to the staff who marched peacefully accused the hospital for failing to address various challenges that have engulfed the hospital.

The hospital is facing a lot of challenges, among other challenges that the staff want to be addressed immediately are water and transportation.

The petition was presented to the acting District commissioner, Greystone Alindiamao.

Alindiamao refused to comment on the concerns, saying he will communicate to responsible authorities.

“I will officially present the raised concerns to the district commissioner as he is the one responsible to respond to those concerns; let’s wait till he gets back in office end this month,” said Alindiamao.

Meanwhile, the staff have threatened to take unspecified action if the council fails to address the raised concerns within two weeks.
