ADMARC employees down tools national wide

Employees from  Agriculture Development and Marketing Corporation (ADMARC )across #Malawi have today gone on strike demanding a salary hike and payment of pension money.

The strike follows the expiry of a 30 days ultimatum the employees gave government under President professor Arthur Peter Mutharika earlier this month.

The employees wrote their management on April 16 of their intention to down tools beginning today April 30th.

The Admarc workers Union says discussions over these concerned started in March 2018.

A visit by faceofmalawi ADMARC regional office in Mzuzu saw the main entre closed with tree branches and big stones.

One of the workers Brian Chawinga confirmed of the strike in an interview with faceofmalawi reporter.

Chawinga said the workers are accusing government through Ministry of labour for playing double standard on the matter.

The workers have since hinted that they will only return to work once their grievances are met by government.
