Police Refute Claims of Fresh Albino Murder in Chikwawa

Police in Chikwawa have refuted claims circulating on social media that one of the persons living with albinism has been murdered in the district.

On Tuesday, social media was awakened by a shocking picture that showed a dead albino person and the alleged suspect beside the body.

Addressing the matter, Chikwawa police spokesperson Foster Benjamin refuted the claims in a statement seen by this publication saying the reports false.

“This is sheer bogus and it is believed that the story was cooked by some ill-minded people bent on creating fear among peace loving citizenry,” he said.

Meanwhile, the district’s police have assured the general public of maximum security and further warn those that are fabricating the fake news that they will soon face the music.
