Mutharika’s billboard destroyed by angry protestors in Blantyre

Angry protestors in the commercial capital Blantyre have torched a billboard bearing the face of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at clock tower.

The development followed disagreement between the police and the protestors after being blocked from proceeding to Malawi Electoral Commission Offices (MEC) in Blantyre.

The police had to use teargas to disperse the angry protestors.

Before this, angry protestors destroyed President Mutharika’s banner situated at Mount Soche Hotel in the commercial capital Blantyre.

Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) are today holding a peaceful protest across the country to force Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Chairperson Dr. Jane Ansah to immediately resigns for failing to administer the May 21 polls.
