Two MCP supporters arrested for using abusive language during ant-Ansah demonstrations

Information reaching this publication indicates that police in Mangochi have arrested two Malawi Congress Party (MCP) supporters for allegedly using abusive language during the Anti Jane Ansah demonstrations which were held in the district two weeks ago.

Mangochi Police Public Relations Officer Roderick Maida confirmed of the arrest in an interview with one of the local daily papers (Daily Times).

Maida identified the two as MCP’s parliamentary candidate for Mangochi Central, Hessein Daddy Anusa, and a District Youth Committee Member, Awilo Nkuwu.

The two will be answering their charges in Zomba under the regional prosecution team, according to Maida.

Effort to talk to MCP spokesperson Maurice Munthali on the arrest proved futile.
