Gule Wamkulu Dancer Shot in Lilongwe

The Chewa traditional dancer, Gule Wamkulu was yesterday shot by unknown goons at Nanthenje in Lilongwe, posing fear that the current political crisis may worsen.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson Kingsley Dandaula has confirmed the incident.

According to Dandaula, the Gule Wamkulu dancer is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

The assailants who shot the Gule Wamkulu dancer, came using a vehicle without registration number and drove away immediately after shooting the dancer.

The incident has however shocked village elders and people surround the area.

Dandaula further added that the police are yet to establish investigations on the matter.
