Police in neighbouring Zambia have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly murdering his wife.
Prince Mutowa is alleged to have murdered his 27 year old wife identified Maureen Tembo using a pounding stick and an electric cable after suspecting that she was not spending nights at home.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed this in a statement and said the incident happened in Lusaka’s George Compound.
Katongo said the the victim sustained head injuries and died on the spot.
She said officers who visited the scene found an electric cable and a pounding stick which were alleged used in the act.
Katongo said the body of the deceased is in mortuary awaiting postmortem while the suspect is detained in police custody and is yet to be charged.
