The meteorological department has advised the general public to follow precautionary measures amid the heat wave the country is experiencing.
According to the department the situation has been caused by warm and dry north easterly airflow into the country.
Since last week, the country has been experiencing high temperatures caused by excessive heat.
The department continued that this type of weather is expected to continue for the rest of the day today.
Among others, people are being advised to drink a lot of fluids such as water, tea, coffee, low fat milk and avoid excess alcohol in order to stay hydrated.
