St Michael’s Girls Secondary School closed in Mangochi

St. Michael’s Girls Secondary School in Mangochi has been closed indefinitely following a protest by learners.

On Sunday evening, the students went on rampage vandalizing school property in protest of poor diet.

It took the law-enforcers to intervene by firing teargas to disperse the rioting students and restore peace at the school.

On Tuesday, management resolved to close down the school forcing all the learners to leave the school.

Head teacher for the school, Rose Chikhambi confirmed the closure of the school but refused to comment further.
