Kabwila’s arrest linked to Msundwe’ rape demonstration

Former member of Parliament for Salima Jessie Kabwira who is also member of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) has been arrested in Lilongwe.

National Police Spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed of the arrest but could not diverg more details.

But information sourced by this publication indicates that the arrest is in connection with last week’s demonstration.

One of the human right activists Billy Mayaya confirmed of the arrest, saying Kabwila has been arrested in connection with Thursday demonstration.

Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) led by it’s Chair person Timothy Mtambo organised demonstration to push for the arrest of the police officers who raped women in Msundwe.

HRDC gave the police a 5 day ultimatum to arrest the suspected police officers or face mass protest.
