Mzuzu Pupils Join Their Teachers’ Protest as Strike Enters Day 2

As strike by teachers has entered day two, pupils in most primary schools in Mzuzu have joined their teachers’ protests who are demanding their December 2019 salaries.

The strike started yesterday in which teachers across the country are staging strike as some of them have not been paid their December salaries.

Meanwhile, teachers and learners in Mzuzu are marching to the District Education Office to force their employers to adhere to their demands.

Though the tension is seem to be high, no police officer has been traced escorting the disgruntled teachers and learner.

Yesterday, learners from Dedza and Zomba also joined their teachers as they marched to the education offices claiming they are going to take salaries for their teachers.
