Magic: Bees Pursue Chicken Thief, Force him to Surrender at Police Station

In Kenya, a middle aged man from Migori county found himself in the soup when a swarm of bees accosted him shortly after stealing chicken from a poultry farm.

The man identified only as Nafula is said to have gone to his neighbour’s house early Saturday morning demanding to be paid a debt he was owed.

According to an eyewitness, Nafula was not fully paid as he was given a half amount of the debt and told to collect the balance the next day.

She added that when Nafula was leaving his neighbour’s house, she saw him stealing chicken. The suspect then threatened her with tough consequences if she disclose any information.

She pointed out that, when she informed her neighbour about Nafula’s actions, the poultry farmer said that Nafula would take himself to the police station.

“Everyone took the sentiments lightly. Some assumed it was just a joke from a farmer grieving the loss of his chicken. The farmer later walked away while saying “the bees will get him”, “the eyewitness continued.

Another person privy to the event said that he knew something was wrong when he saw Nafula wailing and running helter-skelter.

A swarm of bees also seemed to pursue him. Some of the furious insects had already stung him leaving a section of his face badly swollen. Nafula later run into a police station where he surrendered and the bees stopped hunting him.

After he reported himself, the bees flew away, it is said.

The farmer later reported at the station where he said that he had forgiven Nafula. The suspect was, however, punished with five days of community service even after he pleaded for mercy at the police.
