Bottoman says Malawi yet to record COVID-19 case

Government has refuted reports that the country has recorded a Covid-19 case in Lilongwe.

On Wednesday, the social media was awash with reports that the country has recorded the first ever Covid-19 case in Lilongwe and that currently the patient is in isolation in area 5.

Speaking on the sidelines of a stakeholders meeting of players in the telecommunication sector on their role in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Information Minister Mark Bottoman has dismissed reports making round describing such reports as baseless aimed at instilling fear in Malawians.

Bottoman has since urged players in the communication sector to take a leading role in disseminating correct information on Covid-19.
