Malawians protest Mutharika’s 21 days lockdown in Mzuzu (See photos)

Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that people in Mzuzu have taken to the street to protest the 21 days lockdown ordered by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in the wake of the spreading Covid-19.

On Tuesday night President Mutharika declared a 21 days lockdown starting from April 18 midnight to May 9, 2020.

According to Mutharika, the decision to impose the lockdown was to prevent more deaths as a result of the virus which has killed thousands of people across the world.

But the move has attracted mixed reactions among Malawians with many questioning the rationale behind the move.

Some of the Malawians have taken the issue on the street in Mzuzu to express their anger, arguing that the lockdown will greatly affect them.
