Ex-Miss Malawi, Faith Chibale stirs debate

Former Miss Malawi Faith Chibale has caused a stir after reports that two men suspected to be vying for her nearly exchanged blows at her residence.

However, the socialite, who stormed to fame when she won Malawi News Model of the year before being crowned Miss Malawi in 2010, has dismissed the rumour saying nothing of that kind happened.

It is believed that two prominent urban music artists nearly fought at her place when they bumped into each other.

However, residents of Kanjedza refused to comment on the matter saying Chibale has lots of friends who visit her.

“She has a lot of friends both male and female so it’s easy for people to mistake some of her friends as her boyfriends,” said one of the sources.

When interviewed, Chibale said none of the male friends visiting her place was his boyfriend.

“I know I have a lot of friends because I am an extrovert but they are not my boyfriends. We all have friends and it does not make sense to conclude that if you chat with someone then you are in a relationship,” she said.

Chibale said she has been hearing these rumours and that lately she has toned down on her outgoing life.

“These days I do not go out often because I don’t want people cooking up stories about me. So I don’t know what these people want from me. I go out they talk, I stop going out they say men are fighting at my place, which men? ,” she asked rhetorically.

Previously, Chibale was rumoured to be going out with Zimbabwe’s Big Brother representative Munyaradzi Chidzonga but she denied the rumour saying they were just close friends.

The rumours started after Chibale starred as Munya’s girlfriend in a movie, The Gentleman, and they kissed in one of the scenes in the movie. Munya also spent time at Chibale’s place each time he was in Blantyre.
