Reports reaching Faceofmalawi indicate that at least 4 supporters for Tonse Alliance have sustained serious injuries after being involved in two separate road accidents in Mchinji on Tuesday.
One of the victims was hit by a speeding vehicle along the Kapiri-Kamwendo road, while the other three got injured when a lorry that carried 39 supporters, failed to negotiate a sharp bend along the Kawere-Mkanda road.
The two accidents happened when the Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara held a number of whistle stop rallies in the district.
Mchinji police spokesperson Kondwani Kandiado said the four, that include three men and a woman, have been admitted to Mchinji District Hospital.
