Citizen for Transformation (CFT) leader Timothy Pagonachi Mtambo has joined the national wide protest organized by lawyers demanding judicial independence.
Mtambo, former Chairperson of Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) joined the protest in Mzuzu.
Apart from Mtambo, court users, politicians such as former parliamentarian for Mzuzu city Joseph Njikho and Civil Society representatives have joined the protest.
The protests follow a government decision to send on force leave the Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda and continued attack of the Judiciary by President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and some Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top officials.
The ruling DPP is bitter with the Judiciary for nullifying the May 21, 2019 Presidential polls which saw President Mutharika being declared winner.
