MoH DISAPPROVES THE USE OF RAPID ANTI BODY TEST KITS TO DIAGONIZE COVID-19

The Ministry of health has threatened to sanction any supplier and service provider found offering rapid anti body test kits to diagonize COVID-19.

The warning has been issued in a statement released on the 17thof June and signed by secretary of health Dr Dan Namalika.

The Ministry learnt with concern that some private hospital’s and institutions are using the rapid anti body test kits to diagonize Covid-19 instead of the molecular mechanisms that were recommended by the world health organization.

The statement further said that the rapid anti body test kits are not recommended to diagonize COVID-19 as such the ministry does not support the use of such test kits for their result are likely to be unreliable .

For this reason the ministry has advised and encouraged institutions and individuals to continue making use of the available molecular testing technologies for are the best way to diagonize Corona virus until the ministry has identified a suitable rapid anti body test kit.

However the ministry has expressed optimism that concerned parties and individuals will adhere to the call in the fight against Covid 19 in the country.
