APAM President Ian Simbota hails new Malawi police IG over Lule’s murder arrests

Association of Persons with Albinism (APAM) President Ian Desmond Simbota has hailed the new Inspector General of police Dr. George Kainja for swiftly acting on the gruesome murder of Buleya Lule.

The law enforcers on Saturday nabbed 12 Police officers in connection with Buleya Lule’s death while in police cell at Area 3 in Lilongwe.

At the time of his death, Lule was a suspect in the murder of a person with albinism.

The 12 officers include Assistant Commissioner of Police Evalisto Chisale.

Writing on his official facebbok page, Simbota hailed Kainja for hitting the ground running.

“Dr George Kainja. Kukhala koma kumeneko. Kuyamba koma kumeneko,” wrote Simbota.

On his part, APAM National Coordinator Overstone Kondowe wrote: “I hope i am now vindicated. Failure of APM to arrest perpetrators of violence against PWAs was only purported by government hence shielded by the same.”

Meanwhile all the suspects have been sent to Maula Prison and the case has been committed to High Court.
