Nankhumwa, Mwananvekha Blush Off President Laz Claims That DPP Plundered Over 1 Trillion

The main opposition Democratic Party (DPP) has rebutted President Lazarus Chakwera’s claims that the former ruling party might have ransacked over 1 trillion Kwacha of public funds.

The remarks have been made by DPP’s vice president for the south Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also leader of opposition in the august house during a press briefing where he accompanied by former minister of finance Joseph Mwananvekha.

Nankhumwa’s remarks came in reaction of what president Chakwera said on Saturday during his weekly radio report special program.

According to Nankhumwa, what the state president has said is a cheap propaganda and a scheme to arrest DPP officials and a way of making Malawians to forget the Tonse Alliance promises.

The former cabinet minister added that the president does not understand financial issues hence his “lies”

Nankhumwa alleges the Malawi leader simply wants to soil the DPP image even before Finance Minister brings a report to Parliament; describing the move as mere propaganda.
