Chanthunya sentencing set for today

The High Court in Zomba is today expected to deliver a ruling in Misozi Chanthunya’s murder case.

On Wednesday this week, the court shifted the ruling today due to what Chnthunya’s lawyer Michael Goba Chipeta said it was a mixed up.

The High Court on Friday last week convicted Chanthunya on three counts of murder, perjury and hindering the burial of a dead person, Linda Gasa.

Presiding judge Ruth Chinangwa said Chanthunya’s conviction follows circumstantial evidences in the days Gasa went missing citing call logs as well as availability of the deceased’s body in the convict’s lodge, among others.

More details to follow..
