Man Beat Up Nigerian Police Men In Court

The Osun state police Division has arraigned a 23 year old man , who goes by the name Lawal Segun, before the magistrate Court in Ile-Ife for Beating up a police officer.

One inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, who is identified to be the prosecutor told the court that Mr.Lawal Beat him on August 31th while on duty around 3:15 p.m. at Parakin Junction, Mayfair in Ile-Ife.

Inspector Osanyintuyi also added that Mr. Lawal who is the defendant also assaulted one inspector Akinpelu Olaoluwa while he was performing his duty, He added that the defendant resisted arrest by the police, and also refused to honor an invite to the station by Inspector Morakinyo Joel and PC Dada Abiodun.

The prosecutor accused Mr. Lawal of damaging his wrist watch , which Valued the some of N10,000 ( Ten Thousand Naira). The prosecutor also reminded the Court that the offences contravened Sections 145, 355, 356 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2002.

Mr .Lawal has however, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge of assault, damaging and resistance brought against him. The Defense Counsel, Mr J.O. Amole, pleaded for the bail of the defendant on liberal terms Assuring the court that his client will not jump bail as a law abiding citizen.

The case was Later Adjourned by His Magistrate Ayeni of the Ile Ife Court ,till the 15th of October 2020.
