Six-Member Gang Kills Teen Over Girl

In Zimbabwe, a love triangle ended in tragedy after a teenager lost his life after he was fatally assaulted for having an affair with a teenage girl who was in a relationship with another boy.

iHarare reports that Thamsanqa Ndlovu age 15 was beaten to death by a six-member gang comprising of four siblings and their friends.

Nqobizitha Masango age 21 had a love affair with a 16-year-old girl before he discovered that his girlfriend (name withheld) was also in a relationship with Thamsanqa.

After, discovering this, on July 24 enraged Nqobizitha allegedly teamed up with four siblings, one of whom is a minor as well as a 13-year-old boy, to assault Thamsanqa.

The six-member gang supposedly armed themselves with knobkerries and ambushed Thamsanqa after they found him walking across a maize field with the teenage girl who was in a relationship with one of them.

Nqobizitha and his gang fatally assaulted Thamsanqa all over the body with knobkerries until he became unconscious. After noticing that the now deceased was not responding, they fled the scene leaving Thamsanqa laying on the ground.

The six-member gang did not inform anyone about what they had done. Thamsanqa’s decomposing body was discovered by the police six days later.

Following the investigations, the six-member gang was arrested. Masango and his three adult accomplices, who cannot be named to protect their minor sibling, appeared before Lupane resident magistrate for initial remand for murder while the 15-year-old and 13-year-old boy were released by police before going to court.

The three adult siblings were released on $1 000 bail each, while Nqobizitha was remanded in custody.
