Hyena mauls boy to death, leaves three injured

In Kenya, a boy has died and three others sustained injuries after a hyena attacked them in Samburu County.

While confirming the incident, Samburu Central Deputy Police Commander Abdikadir Malicha said the boy succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Samburu County Referral Hospital in Maralal town.

The deceased was in the company of his young sister who was also bitten by the wild animal on both legs and hands as they were herding their family’s goats.

The girl who is a standard two pupil is admitted at the same hospital undergoing treatment but is in a stable condition.

Mr Malicha said two other people who responded to save the children’s lives from the hyena attack were also injured.
