Mzomera Ngwira back in court for another offence

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) governor for the North Christopher Mzomera Ngwira is today appearing before the Mzuzu Magistrate Court in another offence committed in 2016.

In July this year Ngwira was arrested together with DPP Deputy Director of Operations, Joe Nyirongo , well know as Big Joe, Lumbani Munthali, Thembisile Nkosi and George Mwamtobe on allegations that on March 20, 2016 they disrupted Malawi Congress Party (MCP), Alliance for Democracy (Aford) and Peoples Party (PP) rally at Chibavi in Mzuzu.

Three people were wounded in the fracas including Chakwera’s bodyguard.

Ngwira is appearing at the Mzuzu court while also waiting for sentencing by the Mzimba magistrate court in another case where was convicted of abusing constituency development funds.
