Two People Arrested In Tanzania For Spreading Fake News Regarding President Magufuli

At least two people have been arrested in Tanzania for spreading rumors about President John Magufuli’s health.

For the past days on social media including some big international media houses have been carrying out stories regarding the Tanzanian leader to be unwell.

The rumors had it that Magufuli is down with Coronavirus and is being treated in the neighboring Kenya.

According to deputy police commander of Tanzania Rianda Millanzi, said police arrested a farmer and a technician for spreading rumors that Magufuli is sick.

News of arresting those suspects were released shortly after Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa issued a statement that President Magufuli is in good health.

This is following news that have been spreading on social media that the president has been transported to search for treatment outside Tanzania after being sick.

Reports has it that Magufuli has not been seen in public places for over a week the development which worried people in the country of the well-being of the president.

Magufuli is the only African president who has refused to acknowledge the existence of the global pandemic Coronavirus as his country is not following any Covid-19 guidelines and preventive measures.
