Man drowns while checking fishing nets

A 38-YEAR-OLD man from Omundjalala village in the Elim constituency drowned while checking his fishing nets.

Kleophas Amagulu’s lifeless body was discovered floating in the water by children herding cattle in the area on Saturday afternoon.

According to Omusati police regional commander Titus Shikongo, Amagulu, who lived with elderly mother, was last seen on Tuesday morning.

“Amagulu is alleged to have had some fishing nets in the river channel and it is suspected that he might have gone to check on his nets at night, resulting in his drowning,” said Shikongo.
